A World Class Transportation System

First, ERP at Orchard Road.

That's damn stupid. Want to push Orchard Road to be an international shopping paradise. Then they do this. Surveys had shown that not many people will be put off by the 50c to $1 gantry fee. That leaves me to think what the Government wanted to achieve from this. More money for their coffers? (I didn't say this. I overheard it from someone in a kopitiam.) I believe that won't be the last ERP gantry they are setting up. Soon, there will be one just outside the carpark where I live.

Next move:
SINGAPORE : The Public Transport Council has approved fare increases for trains and buses from July. Bus and train fares can go up by 10 cents across the board. This is if commuters pay cash. However, if they use ez-link link cards, fares will increase by one to two cents for buses and one to three cents for trains. -CNA

Wow. Nice move there. Discourage people to drive, now up the transportation fee. *2 thumbs up* Despite strong profits, the transportaion company still go ahead in increasing fares. The word 'public transport' had lost it's meaning. It's not public-orientated, but profit- moltivated. (Learn Economics in JC.)
