Days Of Days

This was one of my outfield days.

F-16s thundered above our heads.

2 Super-Puma helicopters hovering at the horizon.

A Bionix tank rumbled past.

A section of armoured infantry guys doing their battle course in front of us.

And we were eating fresh rations from the cookhouse behind the bushes.

A Bionix charging up a slope.

***********

The night was the worst.

I was left to fend for myself from a battalion of mosquitos with just a coil of mosquito coil.

Listening to the musical from a band of unknown insects, I slowly drifted to sleep.

This is a good experience.

***********

This in-camp training concluded that we (the soldiers) are still made to "rush to wait, wait to rush."

No cheer for their efficieny.

3 cheers for the scouts.

Hip hip, Horray!

Hip hip, Horray!

Hip hip, Horray!

Band of Brothers will live on.
